Residential Care near York.
Support that still feels like home.

Making the decision to move into residential care is never easy. Whether you're no longer comfortable living alone, recovering from illness, or simply need the reassurance of support nearby, we understand this is a significant step for you and your family.

At Lavender Fields, residential care doesn't mean losing your independence or your identity. It means gaining support, safety and companionship in a place that feels warm, welcoming and genuinely like home.

A Place to Feel Safe and Known

What is Residential Care?

Residential care is for people who need some help with daily living but don't require round-the-clock nursing support. It's about finding the right balance between independence and reassurance.

At Lavender Fields, we provide gentle, respectful support tailored to each person. Whether you need help with washing and dressing, medication management, or simply want the comfort of knowing someone is nearby, we're here – always with kindness, never in a hurry.

“I never thought I’d be laughing this much at this stage of life, it’s the people that make it special.”

— Lavender Field Resident

Consistent Care, Familiar Faces

Your Room, Your Space

Our rooms in Provence House are light, comfortable and designed to feel like your own. Each room has a full en-suite shower room, with patio doors opening onto one of our beautifully landscaped interior courtyard spaces – offering both privacy and a natural connection to the outdoors.

You're welcome to bring personal items, furnishings, photographs – anything that makes the space feel like yours. We want you to feel at home, not like you're staying somewhere temporary.

Beyond your room, you'll find shared lounges, dining areas and beautiful gardens that create natural opportunities for connection. There are also quiet spaces when you need time to rest, reflect or simply enjoy your own company.

You choose your pace, your preferences and your level of involvement in daily life.

One of the things families tell us matters most is seeing the same people each day. People who know how you take your tea, remember your stories and understand your needs without having to ask twice.

Our care team takes time to get to know you well. We recruit for empathy and vocation, not just qualifications. It's one of the reasons so many families choose us, and why residents settle in so quickly.

My mum came for emergency respite and quickly decided to stay. Safe, beautifully clean, and the staff took time to get to know us. Visiting is a treat, and Mum loves the social side.

My dad has settled in well and seems happy. Immaculate home with great facilities, post office, pub and shop. Friendly, helpful staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

A Home for Life

Residential Care in a Village Setting

Unlike traditional care homes, Lavender Fields is a care village. Residents live in Provence House at the heart of the village, surrounded by beautiful gardens and communal spaces that create a genuine sense of community.

Whether you're joining us directly or your needs have changed over time, we'll make the move feel as smooth and supported as possible. This is part of our unique care journey – designed to support people through every stage of later life.

As your needs change over time, your care adapts – but you stay in the same place, with the same team, in familiar surroundings. That continuity matters enormously, especially as care needs increase.

Importantly, our fees don't increase when your care needs increase. You pay one weekly fee that only adjusts annually for inflation, giving you and your family financial certainty during an uncertain time.
