Elderly Day Care Near York and Pocklington.
For families who need support during the day but aren't ready, or don't need, a permanent move, day care at Lavender Fields offers the perfect middle ground.
It's not a waiting room and it's not childminding for adults. It's a genuine day of company, activity and care, in a warm village setting, with your loved one home again by teatime.
A great day out, with care taken care of.
Flexible Care, Built Around Your Week
Day care typically runs from 10am to 4pm, giving a full, sociable day without an early start or a late finish. If your family needs something outside of those hours, just ask, we're happy to be flexible where we can.
We can offer day care any day of the week, but Monday to Friday tends to be the most stimulating option, as that's when our full calendar of activities and events is running. Whether it's a one off visit or a regular weekly booking, we'll work with you to find a rhythm that suits your loved one and gives you a reliable break.
“I never thought I’d be laughing this much at this stage of life, it’s the people that make it special.”
— Lavender Field Resident
What Makes Our Day Care Different
Lunch, afternoon tea and snacks. A proper day includes proper food. Every day care visit includes lunch, afternoon tea and snacks throughout the day, freshly prepared on site.
All activities included. Whatever's happening that day, whether it's a craft session, music, gentle exercise or a quiet chat over a cuppa, it's included as part of the visit.
Full daily care, including medication management. Personal care and medication support are included as needed, delivered with the same care and dignity as with our residents.
Access to The Hub and the grounds. Day care guests can enjoy The Hub, our indoor village centre with a pub, café and coffee shop, hairdressers, gym and village shop, along with our beautiful gardens and grounds.
Familiar faces, every visit. Regular day care guests get to know our team, and our team gets to know them, so every visit feels a little more like coming somewhere familiar rather than somewhere new.
My mum came for emergency respite and quickly decided to stay. Safe, beautifully clean, and the staff took time to get to know us. Visiting is a treat, and Mum loves the social side.

My dad has settled in well and seems happy. Immaculate home with great facilities, post office, pub and shop. Friendly, helpful staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The Lavender Fields Care Journey
Day care is often where the Lavender Fields journey begins. It's a gentle, low pressure way for your loved one to experience the village, enjoy the company and activities, and get comfortable with our team, all without any commitment to more.
If needs change over time, that same familiarity makes any next step easier, whether that's a short-term respite stay, a bungalow, or residential care in Provence House. You're never starting again from scratch, because you already know us, and we already know you.

Our caring team takes the time to build trust and get to know each guest, how they like their tea, what makes them smile, what they'd rather skip. Whether you need a hand with something practical or simply want a chat, we're here.
